Youth Wellbeing circle - an action learning set

A leadership circle focusing on youth wellbeing.

If you are leading any initiative or intervention aimed at improving or enhancing youth wellbeing in Te Tauihu and want to increase your capability and network we would love to hear from you.

It is hoped that this youth wellbeing circle will help you think deeply about your mahi, help you solve real challenges you are facing, and build trusting relationships with other people working to support youth wellbeing in the region.

There is no cost to join the circle.

Te Tauihu Community Development Agency is offering an opportunity for up to 8 people, from 8 organisations focused on youth wellbeing in the region to join an 4-month series facilitated by May Miller-Dawkins, a social change advisor based in Whakatū.

The youth wellbeing circle is a simple and powerful way for individuals to learn from each other and identify new approaches to the challenges or opportunities they face. We will be using an action learning process which involves working on real issues that participants are facing and building relationships of trust and support.

The benefits of participating include:

·      Gaining insight into your challenges and identifying avenues for action.

·      Learning from and supporting your peers who are engaging with similar issues.

·      Building new relationships across the sector.

·      Growing your ability to ask open and curious questions to unlock insight in others.

This will involve you attending eight in person (90-minute) action learning sets over the period mid-August to mid-December in Nelson.  The dates and times for the first two sessions - 22 August 9:30-11:00 and 5 September 9:30-11:00 at the Mahitahi Colab at NMIT in Nelson.

This is a pilot and the impact this makes will inform future circles and expansion across the region.

We will be accepting expressions of interest until 24 July 2024.

For more information and/or to express your interest in this youth wellbeing circle please contact Leigh Manson on 021 928581 or at rcda.mahi@gmail.com
